SCRATCH proves a winner in a range of RED ONE, 2K DPX and HD workflows for Cannes 2011 films

Santa Clara, CA, May 26, 2011 – Several films created by filmmakers whose post-production companies harnessed ASSIMILATE’s SCRATCH® DI tools in their digital post production workflows, won prestigious awards at the Cannes Film Festival 2011, the world’s premiere showcase for independent and international filmmakers.

Cannes Film Festival Camera D'Or:
Las Acacias (2011), directed by Pablo Giorgelli, shot using RED ONE cameras. A delicate and touching road movie about Rubén, a lonely, middle-aged truck driver who first picks up a load of lumber bound for Buenos Aires, and then Jacinta, a country woman who's headed for the city in search of employment, along with her five-month-old daughter. Take Shelter (2011), directed by Jeff Nichols, shot on Super 35mm film, scanned to 2K DPX. A working-class husband and father questions whether his terrifying dreams of a storm signal something real to come, or the onset of an inherited mental illness he's feared his whole life.
